Here are the final entrants in our Ice Storm photo contest! Make sure to check them all out and vote for as many as you'd like, as many times you'd like. And, of course, make sure to look at the others in Week's 1 and 2!
Votes will be tallied until January 1, 2010 so you have plenty of time to decide our top three winners.
By mere Inches

This 2-story limb fell from 40 feet in the air during the night of December 11, and plowed into the ground not 5 feet from the house. Smaller branches still attached to the limb rested against the house in the background, and also against three full-length glass windows of the sunroom that is just to the left of the photo frame, without so much as a cracked pane. One of the limbs missed a kayak by 6 inches. I considered myself very lucky, especially considering my son’s bedroom is the second floor in the background. I left it stuck in the ground as a monument for the year. I took this photo in September, just before cutting it up as one final piece of debris and cursing that %$#@ storm once again. - Pete Cowley, Lunenburg
The morning after

I took this photo on "the morning after" walking on Sunny Hill Road, looking up at the DiGeronimo's house. -Danielle Chapdelaine - Lunenburg
Thank God we are safe

I was thinking about how beautiful the ice was and hoping that these birches would not snap. - Pamela Hill, Lunenburg
Branching out

An unending array of icicles outside our windows. This photo was taken on Monoosnock Avenue in Leominster. Chris LaTouche, Lunenburg
Bittersweet

The ice storm was awful, the damage was great, but a photographer's Paradise! Even the BITTERSWEET was beautiful, shinning and glittering in a thick coating of ice. This picture was taken on Leominster Road. - Dixie Paquin, Lunenburg
Ashes to Ashes

This picture depicts the damage done to a Mountain Ash tree at our property on Pleasant Street. One limb smashed the corner slate roof and the other (in photo) landed in the driveway. We had to take down the remainder of the tree. -Rosemary A. Parker, Lunenburg
Morning Beauty

Sunny Hill Road looking toward Monoosnock Hill - "It's a beautiful disaster!" - Shannon Sweitzer, Lunenburg

By mere inches is my pick. It was quite a conversation piece at Erik's H.S. grad party!
"Thank God we're safe" was an inspiring picture. The heart in the branches symbolized the importance of family and friends, helping one another through a tough time.
Thank God we're safe is beauuutiful! #1 :)
Thank God we are safe. Because it is beautiful and because I know it is a picture of their driveway!!
The Morning After is abolutely stunning!!
They are all gorgeous photos and quite a reminder of last year. However, since I can only vote for one, I'll choose "The Morning After".
i vote for "Branching Out". SO PRETTY!
WOW, what memories!!! I can still hear the branches and trees breaking all night long from the weight of the ice. We are so thankful we have a generator. Generators 4 YOU!: pauljplaquinelect@aol.com.
