The Blue Knights Give Back Big

The Lunenburg High School football team has been busy this holiday season, on and off the field, supporting its community and giving back in true Knights fashion.
After their yearly banquet last week at the Four Points Sheraton in Leominster, the LHS Blue Knights were able to end the year with a donation to the Lunenburg Lion’s Club food pantry.
For the last three years, guests of the banquet are asked to bring in food donations for the Lunenburg Lions Club, and every year the players and their families give big. After this year’s banquet the team was able to bring over 15 baskets of food to the Lunenburg Public Safety building to help restock up the Lions Club pantry. It’s a donation that comes at the perfect time, according to Lions Club member Dave Berthiaume.
“This is about the same amount that they gave us last year,” said Berthiaume, who has taken care of the food pantry for years and was grateful for another Knight donation. “This will certainly go to good use.”
The Knight’s donation helps to replenish the food pantry in the wake of the Thanksgiving basket holiday event in November. The team made their food delivery last Friday.
