Shortening the to-do list before school starts

With the start of the new school year fast approaching (on August 31), the Lunenburg School Committee tied up some loose ends last week regarding athletics handbooks.
The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) recently released protocol for schools to follow regarding head injuries
Athletics Director Peter McCauliff said “we have been waiting for that to put our own rules in place.”
The object of this new legislature is to establish a process for grading injuries, and to utilize follow-up procedures, through doctors, parents and teachers as well as to document all the steps taken throughout the injury.
McCauliff explained to the School Committee Wednesday night that all Lunenburg coaches will needs to be trained in the new protocols. He said that he has already contacted all school coaches, directing them to an Online instructional course on this new legislation. The deadline to take the test is September 1.
McCauliff said there is no charge to take the course, and those that complete the test must turn in the certificate of completion to him as soon as possible.
