The Lunenburg/Ayer hockey team is off to a slow start this winter but the Blue Knights and its coaching staff is optimistic that they can still turn things around.
Entering Wednesday night’s battle with North Middlesex Regional the Blue Knights were 2-3 on the young season. The team is coming off a tough 2-1 loss to Nashoba Regional at the Wallace Civic Center on New Year’s Eve.
Prior to Saturday night’s loss at the hands of the Chieftains the Blue Knights were taking to the ice on the heels of their second win of the season, a 3-1 win over Littleton in the consolation game of the Mark Bushnoe Christmas Memorial Tournament on December 28.
One area of concern through the first five games has been offensive production. The Blue Knights have mustered just 13 goals. However as this younger offensive players mature and gain experience the team will be a force to be reckoned with in the Coughlin Conference.

The Blue Knights fell to powerful Fitchburg/Monty Tech 6-2 on December 27 in the first game of the Mark Bushnoe Memorial Tournament.
