What makes a marriage a happy one?
What are the keys to a healthy and happy relationship?
During a Friendly Seniors’ Pizza and Bingo party Monday morning, local couples shared their loves stories and relationship advice with The Ledger.
Tilly Burpee, 72 and Jack Brigham, 83, said they began dating on January 28, 1996 and it’s been a happy partnership ever since.
“We met through a mutual friend,” said Jack.
“There was definitely a magnet there,” said Tilly.
They say they have kept their romance going nearly 15 years by taking trips together.
“We’ve been to the White Mountains and Maine,” said Tilly. “We were sightseeing.”
“She didn’t get around much before we met,” said Jack.
When asked what they think the secret to a happy relationship is, they say it’s communication.
