Laura C. (Carpenter) Laundree, 43, of Page St., died peacefully on Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, at her home.
Laura was born in Fitchburg, on Aug. 10, 1966. She graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in 1984. Laura received her Bachelor of Arts from Westfield State College and her Master’s in Education from Anna Maria College.
Laura taught 6th grade science at Samoset Middle School in Leominster until she retired to become a full-time mom & volunteer extraordinaire! Laura served on the board of Lunenburg School Linked Services, MFN helping to organize Dress for a Mess, fantastic field trips & the Cat in the Hat breakfast. Over the years Laura participated in the Walk for Hunger and Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, serving as a team captain for the past few years.
She leaves her husband of 6 ½ years John E. Laundree; a son Ean Patrick Laundree and a daughter, Mari Annalise Laundree of Lunenburg; her parents, Lawrence and Gloria (deLongchamp) Carpenter of Leominster; a sister, Mona Carpenter-Bowen and her husband Rob of Lunenburg; two brothers, Matthew Carpenter and his wife Pamela of Bolton and Paul Carpenter and his wife Cathi of Leominster; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Jane Laundree of Ticonderoga, NY; two brother-in-laws, Joseph Laundree and his wife Lisa of Fairfax, VA and Jamie Laundree and his wife Julie of Saline, MI; nephews and nieces, Josephine, Victoria, Hamilton, Ethan, Alec, Adam and Moira.
A memorial mass in celebration of Laura’s life was held on Saturday, Jan. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, 817 Massachusetts Ave., Lunenburg.
There were no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the, Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, P.O. Box 3595, Boston, MA 02241-3595. The Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Massachusetts Ave., is directing the funeral arrangements.
