Krystyna (Lubczynska) Peszke, 85

Krystyna (Lubczynska) Peszke, 85, affectionately known as "Babi," died Thurs., July 15, 2010 at her Acton home with her family by her side.

Born in Poland where she lived her early years, she was the daughter of the late Ignazy Lubczynska and Danuta (Zabska) Lubczynska. During WW II Mrs. Peszke's father served in the military, and as a result her family moved often with the other military families. In her late teens she attended a school for girls in Nazareth, which was under British sovereignty at the time. Known as SMO, (approximately translated as the School of Young Army Volunteers), it was where she met many lifelong friends. She later attended the American University of Beirut for a time then relocated to Acton, England. Mrs. Peszke immigrated to the US in 1956, settling first in Cambridge then in Acton in the early 1960s. She was a former customer service representative for Boston's banking industry. But most important in her life was her family and extended family, and she especially loved her retirement years caring for her beloved granddaughters.

She is survived by a daughter, Myszka Watt and her husband Dave of Lunenburg; two granddaughters, Melissa Johnson and husband Carl, and Sarah Watt; a great-granddaughter, Molly Krystyna Johnson; her beloved companion of 37 years, Paul F. Jopling, and his children, Tammy Sa and husband Jeff, Kathy Wade and husband Dave, and Danny Jopling and wife Diane, and their families; a sister Janinia Brandt of FL., and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

All are invited to visit with the family on Sun., July 18th from 2-5 p.m. at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. Flowers are appreciated, or those who wish may make memorial contributions to the VNA Care Network and Hospice, 120 Thomas St, Worcester, MA. 01608.
