Firefighter injured during blaze at Meadow Woods

Local firefighters responded to a trailer fire, which was fully engulfed in flames at 9:33 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at the Meadow Woods trailer park at 1790 Massachusetts Avenue., lot 38.

 

The fire required mutual aid from the towns of Leominster, Fitchburg and Ayer.

 

Lunenburg Fire Chief Scott Glenny said the owner of the trailer, Curtis Benoit, had problems leaving the burning trailer when the fire began.

 

A neighbor, Nick Katralis,  helped the resident of the trailer evacuate, according to fire officials. When firefighters arrived on scene, the crew was able to rescue a cat from the blaze.

 

A Lunenburg firefighter was injured during Saturday’s fire when he fell through the floor of the trailer.
