Elizabeth (Wagner) Kavulskis, 95 died at Leominster Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Frederick Stroebel of Nurnberg, Germany, and her second husband of 50 years the late Kazys Kavulskis, who died in 1998.
Elizabeth leaves her son Rudiger Stroebel and wife Claire of Aufroth Bavaria, Germany, two daughters and sons-in-law, Sonja J. and Robert L. Shearer, and Jasmin R. and Robert Wyatt of Lunenburg, one daughter-in-law Fumiko Stroebel of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, six grandchildren Ursula and Angelika Stroebel both of Bavaria, Germany, Robert and Derrick Stroebel of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Rudiger Duval and wife Bethany of Winchendon, Damien Duval and companion Tereasa Haigh of Sparta, TN., two great-grandsons, Tanner and Wyatt Duval of Winchendon. Her brother Francis Xavier Wagner of Worth, a/d Donau, Bavaria, Germany, brother-in-law Joseph Sonser and many nieces and nephews in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. She is predeceased by her son Ernest Stroebel, four brothers Hanz, Joseph, George, and Peter Wagner and sister Barbara Sonser.
Elizabeth was born on November 14, 1914 in the Kingdom of Bavaria, in the Town of Lenggries, now Germany, daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Schwemberger) Wagner. Elizabeth’s father was a Brew Meister, for the Schloss Brauerei Hohenburg which was owned by the Prince of Luxembourg. Her mother was a Chamber Maid for the Princesses. In Bavaria, Elizabeth was a cook, and while in the U.S. she worked for the former Century Plastics Co. as Floor Supervisor. She enjoyed sewing through her later years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed politics. She had a great gift of laughter, a smile for everyone who met her. She was a kind and generous loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who adored her family. Elizabeth was a world traveler and adventurous. She was a member of the Summit Elder Care in Leominster. She had zest for life and lived it to the fullest.
Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
Burial will follow in the North Cemetery, Holman Street, Lunenburg, MA
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Our Lady of the Lake Church Building Fund, 1400 Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
