This week’s Business of the Week is, Scotch Pine Farm, located at 87 Elm St. in Pepperell right off of Route 119 (about a mile from Russell Wilkins farm stand.)
The business is owned by Mike Blood, a native of Pepperell.
He originally leased the property back in Novem ber of 2005, and purchased it from the original owners in March of 2008.
Mike started out in the restaurant business first when he started his Chef on Wheels business, where he offered catering for gatherings ranging from company and family outings to weddings and other celebrations. When the Scotch Farm space became available, he decided to expand his catering business to a full-scale restaurant and function facility.
Scotch Pine Farm can accommodate up to 160 guests or more outside under tents, surrounded by the beautiful countryside. Inside they can support parties and functions of up to 50 guests.
Located among the rolling hills of Pepperell, the restaurant offers a very cozy atmosphere as you enter the log-home type building. Mike has a complete menu on dinner nights and always has a special or two for that evening.
He has a completely new bakery as well, with all freshly made breads, pies, and goodies.
He will be taking orders for all of his bakery products for the upcoming holiday season - so stop by and try a pie - and I’m sure you will be back to order for your next family party.
Blood has also recently begun to include local beef and local dairy products in his bakery and food.
It’s quite a site to see and smell. The restaurant dining room is filled with the aromas from the kitchen, and the stone fireplace is always lit to give you that warm and romantic feeling. A great place to take your wife out for a nice dinner or perhaps that lucky lady...
Outside is the growing garden area. The garden shop offers plants for sale for your gardens during the season. And the day after Thanksgiving, you will be able to cut your own Christmas tree on their Tree Farm, and purchase wreaths and roping for all of your outside decorations.
Scotch Pine Farm now has new extended hours to accommodate its increase in business. Hours are: Tuesday-Friday 8a.m. - 2 p.m. (serving breakfast and lunch); Thursday and Friday 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. (serving dinner - reservations recommended); Saturday and Sunday 8a.m. - 1 p.m. (breakfast).
So, if you are looking for a new spot to try out, give Scotch Pine Farm a try. I'm sure you will be glad you stopped in.
