Alberta W. ‘Becky’ (Waldron) Santangelo,  88, a Lunenburg resident for the past 71 years, died peacefully Thursday, January 26, in the Highlands Nursing Home, after and extended illness.

    She leaves one son, James M. Santangelo of Hemingway, SC; one daughter, Charlotte R. Landry of Lunenburg; three sisters, Willie Pendarbis of St. George, SC, Juanita Mobley of Rocky Mount, SC and Maggie Waldron of Georgetown, SC.  She was predeceased by one grandson, Todd Landry and one brother and one sister.

    Mrs. Santangelo was a Manager at the former F & L Bathhouse at Whalom Lake in Lunenburg for many years, and also taught Arts and Crafts for the Town of Lunenburg.  She was a 1940 graduate of Hemingway High School.

    She was born in Hemingway, SC, on May 28, 1923, a daughter of the late Sam and Juanita (Hazelton) Waldron.

    At her request, there are no Funeral Services or Calling Hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in North Cemetery in Lunenburg. The Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., is directing Funeral arrangements.
