A hidden gem for local athletes

The winter months may be looming but that doesn’t mean locals can’t work on their baseball skills just because the weather turns colder.
Recently opened Baseball Evolution, located inside the Fitness Center at Liberty Place in Leominster, is a year- round baseball and softball training facility that allows die-hard players to continue to work on their fundamental skills even during the offseason.
The facility is owned and operated by Ryan Copp, which opened the doors back in October.
“I’ve been involved with indoor training facilities since I was 10 years old, either training at or working at,” said Copp. “After coaching college level baseball and finishing my education, I started throwing ideas about opening up my own facility. I contacted a few people and was told about his place, this location and its worked out well so far. Things have been pretty steady.”
Copp, originally from Maine, began his playing career at the University of Maine before transferring to Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire after his sophomore year. Copp finished his playing career at Franklin Pierce. During his playing career as a pitcher, third baseman and second baseman. After graduation in 2008 he became a baseball coach at Southern New Hampshire University where he worked assistant baseball coach/strength and conditioning coordinator for three years.
