Nearly 100 people turned out for the HealthAlliance Guild’s Reflections Garden Ribbon Cutting held Thursday, June 28 on HealthAlliance Hospital’s Leominster Campus.
Intended as a ribbon cutting event and kick off of the newly renovated courtyard, the event was widely promoted in an effort to raise awareness about the Guild, sponsorship opportunities within the Garden and its mission of fostering better health for the community.
The Garden, a vision, inspired by Guild Treasurer Paula LeBlanc, is a space where patients and visitors can enjoy a peaceful, natural space and where anyone can remember, honor or celebrate special people who have touched their lives.
“This Garden represents not only remembering those who may have passed, but also gives us the opportunity to honor and celebrate loved ones, physicians, nurses, or anyone that you may treasure,” stated Deborah LaPointe, Guild President and Vice President and Regional Business Advisor for Enterprise Bank.
Every nice day we have, the garden is full of employees and visitors enjoying their lunch or out taking a phone call on their break.
“It is nice to see so many people utilizing and enjoying this space, it truly is beautiful” states Heidi Getek, Manager of Volunteer Services at HealthAlliance Hospital.
As a result of the gardens being planted and the donor walls being set up we have had many new donors reserve plaques and granite pavers.
“It is great to have the Guild involved in this project and we couldn’t be more thankful for the support of our employees and the community,” said Getek.
The guild has pledged $125,000 over five years toward the expanded and renovated $14 million Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center at the Burbank Campus in Fitchburg , and profits from the garden will go toward the campaign. At the Guild’s Annual Meeting in May, $25,000 was presented to the Cancer Center.
In recent years, Guild fundraising efforts have contributed to such projects as new equipment for the hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, improvements to the Emergency Department Lobby, and construction of the hospital’s interfaith Chapel. Their 2012-2013 fundraising efforts will mainly benefit such projects as the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center located on the Burbank Campus in Fitchburg.
The Guild is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose sole purpose is to support the mission and goals of HealthAlliance Hospital . Members are community ambassadors on behalf of the hospital who contribute gifts of time, talent and treasure at a variety of levels. The Guild has supported the betterment of health care within the community for decades.
Sponsorship opportunities in the Garden are: small plaques $50, large plaque $100, granite paver $500 and table sponsorship $1,500.
